Yes they should, but time is not on the side of Taiwan. Japan sees that their fate is tied to Taiwan’s. Australia is in such turmoil right now that they might not be in a position to act swiftly.
Duarte & the Philippines seem to think that they can bargain with the Chinese dragon in the hopes that they won’t be eaten. I expect China will be moving into that nice fortified airbase that we left at Bagram. Duarte will probably dangle some basing rights at Clark AFB & Subic Naval Station. That would probably molify the CCP while they are digesting Taiwan.
