I do not believe this article. Over 90% of Covid cases do not need hospitalization.
We're seeing a surge in hospitalizations here in Boise. One of the main hospitals, as of yesterday, is canceling elective surgeries. Coupled with the diminished staff of nurses due to the hospitals' vaccine mandate (yes, people quit and the hospital is offering an additional $25 an hour for the remaining staff) the hospital is under a bit of stress.
The narrative, however, I'm sure will be just to blame unvaccinated people without discusssing the larger issues affecting the hospital census.
It appears the people who die are the ones admitted to the hospitals and nursing homes with later stages of Covid complications. The people denied care (like those with cancer) by the obscene asinine hospital policies will also die.

You want me to beleive surgical floors have become COVID floors? Same for oncology and transplant floors? I find it very hard to believe that a hospital would admit a COVID patient to the same unit as those awaiting solid organ transplants, bone marrow transplants etc. That would be a recipe for numerous multimillion dollar lawsuits.

That happened at the hospital my daughter works at. They got the vanccine mandate and people startes leaving. She said in less than a month, 18 people resigned out of a group of 20. The rest of the hospital is experiencing losses too but not at that level. Many knew this was comong and already planned to leave NY for other states and even different lines of work.
My GF is an RN and that 12 HOUR wait is NORMAL at LA county and city hospitals PRE COVID. It gets far worse on Mondays.<

This article might explain why. California is almost dead last for hospital room staffing. The article doesn’t mention ER staffing, but I would say it safe to assume ER staffing levels are similar.
