California spending big money to get out the recall vote

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California election officials are spending $16 million in a four-week ad blitz to educate people about voting in the recall that could remove Gov. Gavin Newsom, a campaign that’s officially nonpartisan but could benefit the first-term Democrat as he pushes for high turnout.

Through billboards, radio and digital ads, television spots and more, the campaign is designed to make sure voters know about the recall and understand how to cast a ballot. Every registered voter received a ballot in the mail, but many people might be confused or unaware of the race because it’s happening in late summer in an off-election year.

Secretary of State Shirley Weber has said her goal is to increase voter participation across all political affiliations.

“My goal is 100% voting, and why? Because I think everyone has a voice that needs to be heard,” Weber said on a recent call with reporters.

.... understand how to cast a ballot. Every registered voter received a ballot in the mail, but many people might be confused....

Voter: I got the new printed ballot with a paper clipped campaign leaflet of Gavin Newsom's accomplishments and promises of more government money to me. Then one addressed to someone who used to live here years ago. And one with my last name before I got married.

And one forwarded from my old college apartment--boy that takes me back in memories. Fun times.

So, I'll vote using all of them to keep Gavin and then on election morning head on out to the polls and stand in line to cast my in person vote. This is an exhausting election.

No. It is a lie. The Ad bltz is part of the Dims get-out-the-Dim vote agenda, that’s all. The government of California could care less if “all” voters vote in the recall. The government of California does not operate by and for the people of California. It operates for the Democrats of California.

The radio ads were non-stop over the weekend. The problem they have is that a lot of Dem voters aren’t even aware that there’s a recall.

I have a slim hope that the “yes” vote will be large enough to overcome the cheating, but am not counting on that.

this is one clear case where you have to vote, despite the rampant fraud.

ca is a blue state so no harm can be done by removing corrupt incumbents, and you have the rare case of a straight yes/no vote to remove a corrupt, totalitarian politician.

My goal is 100% voting

She'll likely get over 100% if everyone actually votes, because their registration list is padded by 10%

I expect Newsom to survive the recall. Hopefully, California will burn to the ground as a result.

Yes, it was all a grim satire I wrote.

But in GA, MI and other states in Nov., 2020 and the GA Senate race there were many stories of the extra ballots and that’s why we oppose the mailed ballots.

All of the items I mentioned have been in vote fraud stories.

I didn’t cite the true one of the man who got his grandfather’s mailed ballot to fill out. He had been dead for twelve years. That ballot would have counted.

Others with previous person’s name from same address could simply fill them out and mail them. Much more common and true stories.

You probably made that up, but have fun in jail if you are telling the truth.

Here in Fresno county, I received a text when my ballot was sent to me, one when received by the post office, and one when counted. It is logged by SSN. That is about as communicative as the State can get.

Yes it was “made up.” Another of my wonderfully entertaining and colorful satires.

Please see my post no.16.

I am pretty sure that 95% of people are aware of a recall. If it was only in-person voting, Newsom would 100% be out. However, with every voter receiving mail-in ballots, turnout will be way, way higher, which favors the Dem’s.

FWIW, Predictit has the odds of the recall failing at 81%

No, it won’t. There may be some protests in Huntington Beach, but that is about it.

Republicans complain when things go wrong. They don’t actually do anything.
