Indeed, I haven’t been committing any crimes in San Francisco for YEARS now. In fact I’ve never even been there, but that seems to be of no particular importance. I figure about $175,000 ought to cover it. For now.
Isn’t this the money for “protection” you pay to gangsters so they don’t wreck your property, beat you up, or kill you?
It seems like the number of crimes that could be committed is extraordinarily large. Can a city keep up with the demands for payment from crooks who are willing to commit crimes if they are not paid?
Do I still get the cash if I shoplift less than $950 at a time?

Back when I was in ‘the business’, we could get about 25% of the value of our goods from our fence. So, if one averages $900/day of loot (street value), then they’d want to get paid $225/day. Obviously, they’d be expected to provide proof of their ‘professions’, but that only needs to be videos by accomplices.
