A long-running crime prevention strategy that’s used in a couple of East Bay cities may be heading to San Francisco.

It involves cash incentives for not committing crimes.

San Francisco’s Dream Keeper Fellowship has been described as giving someone money to not shoot people.

Just when you thought San Francisco couldn't get any stupider, this happens.

This is not satire.

This brings me back memories of my childhood. I was always the good kid. My younger brother was a holy terror. My parents didn’t know what to do with him. Finally, they tried bribing him to be good. meanwhile i’m not getting into any trouble but I’m also not getting paid for that. So, I always said my brother was paid to be good but I was good for nothing.

Yep, free money. I’m gonna tell them I have no plans on stabbing you. I’ll give half the money.

So is it an escalating payment according to the severity of the crime you don’t commit? If so sign me up for 50-100 capital murders. Lol

I had a friend whose sister was the parents favorite. She tried to shake him down by coming to him and saying, “Pay me a dollar or I’ll tell mom you hit me.”

He clobbered her, took the punishment and she never tried to do that again.

so, do you have to be an actual, official, verifiable resident of SF to get paid to not commit crimes, or can anyone who identifies as an SF resident qualify for no-crime payments? if the latter, please sign me up: i promise not to commit any crimes in SF if the payment makes it worth my while ...

I promise to only worship God (and the pursuit of goodness)
I promise not to use certain profanities
I promise to honor the memory of my parents
I promise not to kill (unless as self defense)
..........not to commit (any further) adultery
..........not to steal
..........not to lie (unless as a benign form of diplomacy)

Oh, Will this Cash incentive be tax deductible?

Since most criminals are never caught, crime will continue to increase and criminals will get a bonus from the city for not getting caught. Brilliant!

If this could be made retroactive, people might be able to claim money for past good behavior.

This is the technique I used to housebreak my dog. Every time he didn’t pee on the floor I gave him a nice treat.
