An American woman,living alone? with four children?

Living in Afghanistan?

I thought that was odd too. Maybe she is associated with American University in Kabul, but children?

I spent a few years in the sandbox (only five days in Afghanistan though, to train some people at Bagram on a system) and no American would have ever brought children. They even had to put “no children, no pets” on some of the deployment paperwork which we thought was humorous at the time.

Anyway, I sincerely hope they are able to get out of there.
