The Taliban completed its military conquest of Afghanistan and took control of the mountainous province of Panjshir after seven days of heavy fighting. The fall of Panjshir puts the Taliban in full control of the country and eliminates the final vestige of organized resistance to its rule.
The Taliban began its assault on Panjshir on Aug. 30, the day the U.S. military withdrew its last forces from Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul. The Taliban seized control of the Afghan capital of Kabul and 32 of the country’s 34 provinces on Aug. 16 after a three and a half month long offensive that began on May 1.

I just watched an interview with a retired Indian General who is really sharp. And he seems very well connected. He says the truth of the matter is that the Taliban tried to rush the valley and got a bloody nose and had to retreat. Apparently the Kabul hospitals are overflowing with injured taliban.
They cried to Pakistan who has now gone in with cobras and a regiment of soldiers firing like crazy and now they are running out of ammo and they don’t have a great supply line so the Paki general is calling for more ammo and Reinforcements. Like the general says you don’t call for reinforcements if you are winning. Also the N. Alliance is controlling the heights. So I’m not sure the reports by the Taliban are true.

I’m hearing the Tajiks are now sending arms to the N alliance including shoulder fired missiles so that would make a big difference. Like that Indian General said if the Russians couldn’t take Panshir he seriously doubts the Paki’s will.
