More than 200 Seattle cops face being fired over vaccine mandate as 20% refuse to get jab
Staffing crisis looms as department reels from 17% budget cut and 250 officers already quitting over 'anti-police climate'
Seattle's Democrat mayor Jenny Durkan and King County Executive Dow Constantine made similar announcements which covered city and county employees respectively.
But the move could see the number of cops in Seattle slashed - despite staffing at the department already at lows not seen since the 1980s.
Just over 200 cops have either said they are not vaccinated, or have refused to turn over their data to bosses, according to KKTH's conservative host Jason Rantz.
That represents about 20 percent of the department's 1,080 deployable officers, who have to look over a population of more than 724,000 people.
In July, it was revealed that the department had already lost at least 280 officers due to what they called an 'anti-police climate' in the city amid Black Lives Matter protests and calls to defund the police.

By mandating that law enforcement or first responders get the jab, the Left had a victory no matter the outcome. If they refused, they can call for federal resources which means universal healthcare also accelerates. If they get it, that's good too because then they mandate it to businesses and other sectors.
And so they descend into anarchy.
The good citizens around Seattle need to cordon it off, nobody in or out, and let the chips fall where they may.

Lots of Seattle residents moving to Spokane and North Idaho, will keep voting Dem and louse up our towns.
Very simple solution. Require law breakers to be vaccinated. If you aren’t vaccinated you are forbidden to commit crimes.
Firing people over a flu shot is insanity. It is not the state’s business if you take the shot or not.
Just like the nurses the police actually have the leverage. They can’t afford to can ‘em all.
These police should call that bluff.
Just follow the CA example and make all property crimes under $1000 non-criminal. Just go ahead and do it. They can’t ruin the city much worse then they already have.
Can you tell me what the liberal judges have to do with the city wanting to force the cops to get shots that they do not want to get?
One’s got nothing to do with the other.
After the riots last year, the cops got fed up with the judges and leadership and started walking. Retiring/resigning or finding another department.
Mandated shots are a different and additional factor.
Those young, fighting aged Afghanistan imports should fit nicely into those 200+ slots.

the article was talking about how many police have left already because they are frustrated with judges and politicians.
And how now, they are doing the mandated “your body not your choice thing”
And what will a ‘federal police force’ do? They’re not going to to anything more than any other law enforcement rep.
If I’m not mistaken a sizable chunk of the CDC isn’t vaccinated. What makes you think that anyone else will do anything more.
Additionally, EVERY agency, from the smallest and to the largest, is experiencing labor shortages just like everyone else.
As should be done around every liberal city in the United States.
