I find it so ironic that Leftists hated Margaret Thatcher so much, due to her battle with Arthur Scargill and Labour over coal-mine shutdowns. At the time of the last UK coal strike in 1984, the UK had 173 coal mines, all of which have shut down. 13 newer pits are all that remain of the UK coal industry.
Yet she, more than anyone, by simply letting economic common-sense work, reduced the UK's "carbon footprint" away from "dirty" coal.
