A federal judge on Thursday temporarily blocked Gov. Ron DeSantis and three Florida sheriffs from enforcing a key portion of the state’s so-called anti-riot law, in part, because it “encourages arbitrary and discriminatory enforcement.”
The definition of what constitutes a riot under a new state law pushed by the governor is too vague “to the point of unconstitutionality,” U.S. District Judge Mark Walker of Tallahassee wrote in his preliminary injunction order....

I’m aware of the idea of unconstitutional vagueness in laws, but really, the whole thing is in THE FIRST AMENDMENT, IMPOSED ON THE STATES BY THE INCORPORATION CLAUSE OF THE 14TH AMENDMENT: The right of the people to PEACEABLY assemble and to petition the government for redress of grievances.
I believe state anti-rioting laws are therefore perfectly constitutional.
I can guarantee you that if the hood rats from the Southside of Tallahassee, showed up in the Judge’s tony Northeast neighborhood, that rioting would be shut down mighty quick. Another gated community elitist subjecing the peasants to things that wouldn’t be tolerated in their areas..

You don’t need to declare a riot to arrest people for J-walking. Blocking traffic or illegal assembly without a permit.
I still think that a sizable group of “warriors” should show up at the homes of people who make mistakes like this. Show up dressed in red with red masks so you can’t be identified. That’s the way antifa does and nobody bothers them.

You are right. The “insurrection” will be hung over everyone who even thinks of protesting anything the left does. When people stop worrying about being an “insurrectionist” is when the swamp will once again be worried.

What the judge appears to be questioning is a lack of precise definition of ‘riot’...which is not directly practical.
