Though high vaccination rates may be spelling the end of the COVID-19 pandemic in Marin County, the county may never truly see the end of the disease, a public health official told the Board of Supervisors Tuesday.
While only 68.3 percent of Californians are fully vaccinated, 90.1 percent of Marin County residents over the age of 12 are fully vaccinated, and 96.9 percent have received at least one dose.
Still, Santora said, breakthrough cases reported in individuals with all three types of the vaccine administered in the United States — Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson — indicate that COVID-19’s presence in the county is far from over.
Yearly COVID-19 vaccinations could become as widespread and easily accessible as flu shots and help combat emerging variants.

Marin county is one of the wealthiest county and of course one of the most liberal/left.
It is full of insane paranoid hysterical people.
It’s not a fifth wave of the virus.
It’s a reaction to the vaxxes.
It’s just being blamed on the virus instead of the so-called vaccines so they can keep pushing their death shots.
COVID has now become the scapegoat.
I always found that West LA and Marin County had the most obnoxious arrogant lefties in all of CA—totally disgusting folks.
Yup—if the vaxxes worked at all Covid would be gone in Marin County.
It only shows what renowned virologists have predicted is coming to pass. Not wanting to change directions, by using other known and working means of prevention would indicate either plain ignorance or intentions of keeping this infection going which in a roundabout way, sorry to say; would serve to cull the population. The more you vax the worse it gets. Perhaps, using that come hell and high water approach, insisting and forcing these vaccines upon people was the whole idea all along.
