China can get stuffed.

I am really surprised - and really happy - that the Morrison government is committing to nuclear submarines for Australia. I honestly never expected it to happen - it should have happened decades ago, but Australian governments have always been too concerned about the anti-nuclear lobby here.

To be frank, I didn't think Scott Morrison had the guts to do this.

I think Japan, Vietnam, and Taiwan are signing a mutual agreement as well.

I am thinking that with China acting the way it is, you will not get the chance.

As you said, this needed to start decades ago.

The first good thing Biden has done in nine months. I’m almost afraid to find out that there is something hidden in the details.

China’s building everything from nuke tubes and subs and destroyers to super fish factory armadas of 300 ships to steal from other nations fisheries, and they want to talk aggression? lol

I hate all articles that tell me the liars in Bejing are “furious” about something.

The Chinese know the US is committing suicide. They just need to stand by and watch. These hissy fits are theatre

Hopefully the Royal Australian Navy has enough bailing wire and chewing gum to keep their Collins class subs running until they can build their nuclear attack subs.

That is not a foregone conclusion.

Surprised that autocrat Morrison didn’t sign such an agreement with Red China instead.

The Aussies needed to do something after the debacle their French submarine program turned out to be. Six years into the deal and no delivery expected for another 13 years? And then they were to be worn out French nukes converted to diesel electric.

I have to think Australia would have gone this way to begin with if they could have done so. I think what's changed now is the US willingness to share the technology. We don't share sub tech with anybody but the Brits.

Hmmmm. Perhaps this is a silver lining to the dark cloud Joe Biden has cast over alliances. The entire Aussie continent becomes a nuclear sub base.

It rattle its saber to the point all the nations in its
region are preparing for war.

How long does it take to build competent crews?

The CCP is the most thin-skinned organization on the planet. They could not withstand a fraction of the criticism that every democracy, big or small, poor or rich, face every day. H#&l, Russia gets a lot more flack and shrugs it off. What a bunch of immature snowflakes.
