Didn’t he say that someone from the government - either FBI or Secret Service - contacted him and offered to escort him into the capitol on 1/6? Fortunately he realized it was a trap and declined - so why are they after him now?

Maybe because someone from either FBI or Secret Service offered to escort him into the capitol on 1/6? Need to find a way to get him to lie under oath now - to silence him about possible illegal givernment action?
He was a Washington insider. He may know things that they don’t want him to be able to talk about. He’s a risk to whomever views him as a threat.
Kind of like when the mob takes somebody out and then somebody does a clean up job to ensure that nobody talks about the job.
