Democratic efforts to include a special $50,000-per-year journalist tax break within President Biden’s $3.5 trillion spending package have sparked accusations of “media collusion.”

Sen. Ron Johnson argued the tax credit would create an improper relationship between the federal government and the nation’s leading media outlets....

...The tax credit would allow “local news” outlets to receive a quarterly tax credit, “equal to 50%” of a journalist’s wages up to a cap of $12,500-per-quarter....

The newspaper that obstructs the law on a trivial pretext, for money’s sake, is a dangerous enemy to the public weal. That awful power, the public opinion of a nation, is created in America by a horde of ignorant, self-complacent simpletons who failed at ditching and shoemaking and fetched up in journalism on their way to the poorhouse. The journos would then write only what their Dem masters want them to write.

Of course, how would that be different than today without the tax break?

It’s against the law to offer federal favors to media people.
This is mafia stuff.
Nobody pays but the hard working, horse whipped little guys who have to pay taxes.

" . . . a special $50,000-per-year journalist tax break . . . "

This CAN'T be true, even in today's weird world. Or is it true?

Wow. Throwing cash at the Ministry of Propaganda in broad daylight. They don’t even bother to hide the corruption anymore.

By putting the press on the federal teat, Congress would be “abridging the freedom...of the press.”

If journalists can be singled out for a special tax credit, can’t they also be singled out for a special tax?

I can see democrat judges ruling the credit is ok, but the tax would be “unconstitutional”. Democrats have no conscience, but we all knew that

Since all these places lose money, it wouldn’t be useful unless it were a refundable credit

Ask yourself what else is in this $3.5 Trillion multi thousand page bill that no one has read yet. This is why I oppose any bills that encompass numerous different “subjects”. All of these issues need to have their own bill and separate votes
