I’m curious about cow farts.

According to internet searches the American bison (buffalo) population was ~30 million in the early 1800s.

The current cattle pop is estimated to be <95 Million.

While a Black Angus weighs in around 1150 lbs, a buffalo tops out around 2000 lbs.

How much methane is produced accordingly? Twice? Enough to make a difference?

Color me skeptical that cows are the problem.

The methane is a waste product of parasitic microorganisms called methanogens that steal energy out of digestive systems. Trace amounts of oxygen kill them.
