“Trump doesn’t know him. He gets recommendations in situations
like this, and the person doing the recommendations either
does a good job, or passes along a very bad guy.”
so who recommended Gen. Milley? Would it be the same person or people who recommended, Bolton, Barr, Sessions, Esper, Mattis, McMaster, Allen and others?
“Every first week boot knows there is no Freedom of Speech when you are in uniform.”
I was reduced in rank, restricted for 30 days and lost half a months pay for telling an officer what I really thought.
You sure are an optimist. How about they try, convict and lock him up to rot for years and then he dies in prison unexpectedly.
On one of the many interviews Trump has been giving he was asked WHY MILLEY?
He said because Mattis didn’t want him!
One time Trump made a YUGE mistake BIGLY.
He broke the chain of command and violated a gag order.
Who what where when why how?
2 mistake actually. Mattis and Milley.
Milley was not a one time mistake. Trump's appointees were almost universally the weakest part of his administration. Bad pick after bad pick.
I think you are understating it. Trump exhibited the same skill at picking people as Milley did with the Afghanistan withdrawal.
And over four years he never got any better at it.
Unfortunately, what he did was not appropriate in a military setting. Discipline and chain of command rule in the ranks.
His is certainly entitled to his opinion, but unless he was taking a martyr route with the intention of going to the brig as a statement, the correct path to take would have been to resign his commission, then speak out.
Was he in uniform? That makes a big difference.
Agreed. Unfortunately the Col., I believe, let emotions get the best of him. You simply don’t excoriate your superior officers in the military with impunity. What many folks don’t understand is that one gives up certain Constitutional rights when entering the military. Freedom of speech has severe restrictions placed on it. And for good reason. Military culture is far and away quite different than the civilians they serve.
Not saying it is right or wrong but it is the way it is. I had no problems adjusting to and living by their code.
I do wish the Col. well, but I fear the Administration and Willey Milley will have their pound of flesh.
That’s who I thought you meant. No matter—the spirit of optimism is uplifting.
It may be. I don’t remember when each was nominated, but
some of them took a period of time before they showed their
true colors.
If you look at Milley, I don’t think he showed up tragically
poorly until a few months ago.
You may have a better memory than I do on each of these folks.
True. I’d like to know who whispered is ear to hire him.
Rove? LOL
