LOS ANGELES — Britney Spears has been freed from her father. And she could be freed entirely from court control within weeks.
In a major victory for the pop star, a judge on Wednesday suspended the singer’s father from the conservatorship that has controlled her life and money for 13 years, saying the arrangement “reflects a toxic environment.”
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny agreed with a petition from Spears and her attorney that James Spears needs to give up his role as conservator.

Will the press still applaud her liberation if she ends up like Elvis or Michael Jackson? No doubt, because the only thing they care about is clicks.
It’s easier than you think to have your rights taken away on the word of some shrink. It’s really difficult to get them back. Brian Wilson was another example. The irony is that psychs are frauds. They can’t even define insanity. But it sure pays well.
Some of the most screwed up, mentally unstable people I have met in my life were mental health professionals.

Conservatorship is one slippery slide any sane man would avoid at all cost.
Suppose someone that despises you decides you are not worthy of making your own decisions, good or bad. Free will. Heard of it? Part of the whole “Freedom and Liberty” thing.

Well I’m not so sure she’s matured enough to handle her own affairs without screwing herself up again.....she really was a basket case....and she had agreed to her father handling her affairs.
Now she’s on her own....so we’ll certainly see how she does.
Hmmm, why do I feel like she will be dead within a year.
She’s a loose cannon. During this ordeal she’s been trapsing around half naked, uploading videos showing her dancing and acting 20. Unless she has someone in her corner, she’ll blow through her money and end up on skid row. We’ll be seeing outrageous behavior from her soon and everyone will applaud and declare it great when all it is, is mental illness on display.

Pretty much any parent that gets their kids involved with hollywood/music at a young age are money hungry wackos.
More than likely.... it’s too bad she’s such an airhead. But Hollywood doesn’t offer the best environment to grow up in.
It’s her mistake to make. I never understood why she was under that regime. As far as I can see, she went commando one day and the paparazzi got a crotch shot. Hounded and scare of the paparazzi another time, she drove away without putting her kid in a car seat. She shaved her head once, posed nude pregnant and got a divorce where someone broke took her to the cleaners.
All of that is Tuesday for any music pop star.

Blowing her cash and dressing sexy isn’t a sign of mental illness. And a pop star entertainer, dancing and singing? That’s WHAT she does, and gets well paid for.
If she winds up broke on skid row, that’s her choice to make.
She turns 40 in December. is daddy supposed to run her life forever? He even got to dictate who she dated, if she could drive a car, and to ensure she in on birth control.
That went into the zone of abuse long ago. She simply hasn’t done anything to warrant such a brutal loss of control of her life. Did your parents approve of every decision you made in young adulthood?
Britney Spears is not sane, IMHO, and she is rich so will be surrounded by a cloud of enablers and worse. Her dad may be exploiting her financially under the conservatorship but it is possible that he actually cares for her unlike the media.
I don’t see the slightest evidence she in insane. Probably irresponsible. A bad decision here and there doesn’t make you insane.
And by the way, if she’s irresponsible, how does it make sense to put the man who raised her to be that way, in charge of her life?
