Many breathed a sigh of relief when President Biden was elected, not for policy but for a reunification of the country after four years of tumult and fiery division under President Trump. But eight months into the new presidency, America's deep disunity might not be letting up.
A new poll has revealed that political divisions run so deep in the US that over half of Trump voters want red states to secede from the union, and 41% of Biden voters want blue states to split off.
According to the analysis from the University of Virginia's Center for Politics, 52% of Trump voters at least somewhat agree with the statement: 'The situation is such that I would favor [Blue/Red] states seceding from the union to form their own separate country.' Twenty-five percent of Trump voters strongly agree.

An easier path back to sanity is to strengthen states’ rights.
Sounds like a divide and conquer poll financed by China. Notice how they say “Half of each side” but it assumes all Americans are equal half republican and equal half democrat. Secondly it ignores the fact where you have states where independents and non-voters are bigger than either group combined.
Exactly right.
A better solution is the establishment of city states. Give big cities unlimited powers of taxation and regulation, within city limits. That is a fate worse than having a nuclear bomb go off.

I’d love to see this come to pass. The mere mention of “United” States has become a macabre joke. On a different thread on this subject, someone mentioned dividing the country by redrawing state lines by county. For example, the northern CA counties are no more connected with the Bay Area than oil is to water, but have far more in common with the southern counties of Oregon. Ditto for the western regions of Virginia.. they’re far more aligned with West Virginia than they are to liberal northern counties of Fairfax, Arlington and Loudon.

And that’s the core of the whole matter. They despise us and we equally despise them, and there will never be a bridging of the two sides ever again.

The deep state, mostly libs, can’t help themselves considering that their lives are directed by NOT the Holy Spirit. Lying and cheating is what they do.
The first big steal of an election in our lifetime was 1960. I recall that people were so excited to have a stylish RC President that the cheating was OK. That was the beginning of the end.
For them, it’s never about the citizens; it’s always about the power and resultant ill-gotten gain.
And we ARE this divided.
Great! have the libs create their own country but when their stuff fails DO NOT come crying to us. Please take all the “migrants” and “criminals” so they do not feel bad.
We will keep those who dared to step into the capital building and those who believe in God.

The answer is NO.
They do not despise us...they actively want us DEAD and eliminated. So, why not leave them so they have no opposition and we can enjoy watching their self-inflicted misery and collapse from afar while we prosper and thrive?
The Founders solution was for people to ultimately vote with their feet. That is happening to some degree (local joke here in TX is “will the last person in CA please turn out the lights”) but the commies are trying federalize everything to thart solution.
