Because the world doesn’t already have enough viruses that emerge through natural processes? This reminds of when they had to re-route a new interstate highway in the American Bottoms because the original route ran through the breeding area of a rare mosquito. Nobody who lives there has ever complained about a lack of mosquitoes. No sane person, anyway.
Whoever developed this and cut it loose on the world needs to burn in the hottest part of South Hell.
