By age 28, he was the Washington editor of the longtime commie rag, The Nation.

So you see no difference from a illegal mandate imposed by the Federal Government on citizens and condition of employment set by a private business?

He's an unlikely success at MSNBC, coming from the relatively small world of left-wing magazines as an editor of The Nation and a socialist newspaper in Chicago before that.

He transitioned from print to television thanks, in part, to a shoulder tap by MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow.

You can be opposed to totalitarianism in the guise of vax mandates and still make the personal choice to get vaxxed.

That’s kinda what freedom is all about.

IIRC, Tucker is not anti-vax himself but protests against mandatory vax policies, including Fox’s. He’s clearly not made a secret of it. His best protest requires he stay right where he is twixt 8-9est. M-F

You are correct.

What these people don't understand is that it is possible to be pro vax, but anti mandate. A person can believe in voluntarily taking vaccines, but objects to being forced to take it or discriminated against for not taking it.

yes...and then there’s your winning private v. govt. argument.

Expect Tucker to castrate Hayes’ strawman argument in short order.

“”The Fox News vaccine requirement is stricter than the one proposed by President Joe Biden””

What could FOX require that would be more strict than Biden’s “GET THE VACCINE.”

This idiot doesn’t get enough attention...any nonsense will suffice for him....

At high school, he was friends with composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, who he rode the bus with. Miranda said Hayes was the only friend who visited and spoke Spanish to his grandmother.

While attending the Republican National Convention in Philadelphia, he was caught with marijuana by security. What was eye-opening for him was that security let him off. It showed him the difference between his treatment as a privileged white male, and what could have happened had he been African-American.

“I can tell you as sure as I am sitting here before you that if I was a black kid with cornrows instead of a white kid with glasses, my ass would’ve been in a squad car faster than you can say George W. Bush,” Hayes told Huff Post.

Seems like Hayes is equating the big media with the government.

He’s not far off the mark, regarding the mainstream media.

Corporatism is fascism and what we’re witnessing under COVID is that fascism is alive and well in the USA.

I agree with that.

But working for a company that engages in the kind of totalitarianism you oppose sort of makes you the equivalent of a Jewish guard at Auschwitz, doesn't it?

The Nation's editor Katrina vanden Heuvel said people thought it was a gamble to put a 28-year-old at the head of the Washington office, but she wasn't worried. She knew he had integrity and independence and that he was committed to journalism.

Chris Hayes and Katrina vanden Heuvel.

I'd pay money to watch a debate between Chris Hayes and Tucker Carlson.

I'd put money on Carlson to eat his lunch.
