Andy Puzder rips WH narrative on gas spike: 'How does using OPEC instead of US prevent emissions?'

The Biden administration is executing a misguided and costly energy policy amid widespread inflation, and their explanation for a reduction on American energy production doesn't make sense, even in terms of preventing climate change, according to former CKE Restaurants CEO Andrew Puzder.

...Puzder – whose former company is the parent of Carl's Jr and Hardee's -- said the White House's current increased reliance on OPEC is counterintuitive, given the fact oil exploration in the Middle East has environmental impacts just as domestic speculation does.

"How on earth does it help prevent carbon emissions if we use OPEC's and Russia’s oil instead of our oil?" Puzder questioned.

"That doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. If you're using the oil, it’s the same carbon emissions," he said, adding that U.S. production is down 15% since "pre-pandemic."

Puzder added that the best way to bring down prices is instead to continue the Trump-era encouragement of domestic production on federal lands...

Russian oil and gas imports help out Putin and Gazprom, who then pay Hunter his cut, and then gives 10% to the big guy. Same goes for Iran and Venezuela.

Using OPEC adds to emissions. They screw up, spill and emit things more than we do.

Oh, that my Democrat country people (men, women, and its) would think as clearly as this Andy Puzder is thinking. There is hypocrisy abounding, and finally, finally, someone puts two and two together, and gets four, not five, as the correct answer! Someone whose eyes have been very slightly opened! May the eyes of many continue to be opened and healed!

It’s a stupid question.

They’ve admitted their intent is to make ‘fossil fuel’ so expensive that alternatives will be pushed to the forefront.

Their rationale is that it’s a means to an end, but their dishonesty prevents them from admitting what we already know and that which they’ve already openly stated.

In a very convoluted way one could come up with that statement but you have start by ignoring everywhere but the USA. Were all oil and gas production to stop in the US, millions of vehicles would be taken off the road, thousands of portable electric generators that supply power to drilling equipment needed to drill the oil. All of the equipment used for exploration would be parked a long with all the equipment need to service wells. Basically it’s say get rid of all the energy consuming, emission producing vehicles and equipment need to produce energy and you reduce emissions.

Now does that actually change anything on a world wide basis, absolutely not, but it would reduce US emissions. I might also add that it would leave the United States of America at it’s weakest point in history, 29 oil producing states struggling for revenue and millions of Americans unemployed. Which in my opinion would be the only reason one would pursue such a thing.
