The U.S. delivered 36 ultra-low temperature freezers Tuesday to the Ministry of Health at the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology (NIHE) in Hanoi.
The freezers are the first of 111 ultra-low temperature, medical-grade storage units worth approximately $1 million that the U.S. Department of Defense is providing to Vietnam, the U.S. Embassy said in a statement.
With a capacity of minus 40 degrees Celsius to minus 90 degrees Celsius, the freezers can store vaccines that require extremely cold temperatures, including the Pfizer vaccine, which must be stored at minus 70-80 degrees Celsius.
Of the 77 freezers originally offered to Vietnam, 14 will remain at the NIHE for national-level distribution and 63 sent to regional distribution centers throughout the country. An additional 34 units have been requested by the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City.

Very much.
PLEASE PLEASE give top priority to officials in the Communist Party.
I hereby donate my lifetime supply of 47 doses to them
China now seems to have changed. A lot. I used to live there, a long, long time ago. I am familiar with the place.
They are increasingly turning inward. They have absorbed an unbelievable amount of formerly AMERICAN industry. They are taking over ever more American industries, making them CHINESE. They are taking over all our businesses, we are selling out to them, our leadership is all for sale.
To CHINA.
I am also familiar with Vietnam. ENTIRELY different attitudes.
You people have been building up, the wrong country.
For the last 30 years.
Just my opinion...
Vietnam is NOT our enemy.
None of the vaccines require those super cold temperatures. They took that parameter away a looooong time ago.
Thanks for the VNExpress link.
How about you guys make your own. Or at least offer to pay for it.

Vietnam does pay, regularly.
Vietnam was for the first year, almost free from the virus, but when the delta variant emerged we got a reat run-up of cases. There have been about 55 million doses administered thus far. The population is about 100,000,000 total, need around 200,000,000 doses.
So we are just past 25%, so far...
You sure about that?
Quite welcome.
“Vietnam does pay, regularly.”
Full price? I’m tired of paying for the rest of the world. We don’t owe you people anything.
L
Almost every country can afford to pay vaccines.
There is a time frame involved but....
From an article today:
“With a capacity of minus 40 degrees Celsius to minus 90 degrees Celsius, the freezers can store vaccines that require extremely cold temperatures, including the Pfizer vaccine, which must be stored at minus 70-80 degrees Celsius.”
I met a guy in Darwin’s Theory in Anchorage that lives in Cambodia. He said he got a permanent resident visa for a little over 300 dollars there. He was considering a move to Vietnam, because they were opening up the same program, and it was slightly less money. That was maybe three or four years ago.
The cost of living is relatively cheap in either country.
As for the “vaccine” they’d be MUCH better off spending on Ivermectin, like some states in India have done with spectacular success.
“Permanent visa” meaning good for a year
