If we were to bomb a mosque, it would be a crime against humanity, worse than the holocaust. Which is why we never do it.
And yet mosques get bombed. By muslims. Because they don’t care. The bombing victims at the mosque? “Well, they deserved it. They were bad muslims”.
The biggest Shiite ethnic group in Afghanistan is the Hazari, immortalized in Khaled Husseini’s Kite Runner. They’re descendants of the 13th Century Mongol Horde that rode through Afghanistan, and are on the bottom rung of Afghan society, menials and servants mostly. Aside from being murderous terrorist thugs, the Taliban is also a bunch of racist SOBs, and have it in for the Hazari for being both Shiites AND descendants of the Mongols.
Quite true, not our circus and not our monkeys. But one must look for enemies of one’s enemies and befriend them where possible. Just because this all didn’t happen on TV doesn’t mean Afghanistan won’t rear up and bite someone wholesale on their collective asses when least expected, likely America, Israel and/or India. And since Biden has alienated those few translators and guides still living, should further involvement with this circus become necessary, and it probably will, whenever that happens, look for the Shiites, especially the Hazari (Yellowish skin, slanty eyes).
