Yeah....when I think of who might have guns buried around OZ, the Jokers rank pretty high. I wonder if this is calculated to flush them out.
I’d expect them to already have considered that.

This is targeted at organised crime. Unfortunately, in Australia, one of the most common ways for organised crime to try and conceal itself is in outlaw motorcycle gangs.
Nobody here has any difficulty telling the difference between people who just ride bikes and the ones who have turned seriously criminal.
That’s amazing. I go to bike shows in the U.S., one just two weeks ago, and many varied types of bikes and bikers are there. I sure can’t tell which individuals are involved in criminal enterprises and which aren’t. One Harley dude with a black leather jacket and patches is a well-known local surgeon; I know because there was a newspaper article about him. Someone not familiar with the guy could assume he’s a pretty rough dude. The kid on the Kawasaki dirt bike I don’t know — it’s possible he sells meth in his school parking lot or alternatively maybe he’s an altar server at the Latin Mass on a fast track to heaven. How does one determine these things from appearances?
It’s specific gangs we’re talking about here that are basically universally covers for organised crime. Sure, there are probably individuals in other gangs who are also criminals, but these specific gangs - and it a specific list - has been identified as criminal enterprises.
Some of these may share a name with other gangs, but the specific groups that are criminal have still been identified.
I can’t think of a single instance where the govt didn’t abuse its power. Think parents being on terrorist watch lists because they opposed a local school board. This law is going to be used to “get” as many people as possible. That’s what the govt does. That’s what the govt always does.
Must be nice to live in fantasy.
Gov'ts *always* exert their power and extend their reach. There are no exceptions.
As long as ANTIFA can still fly their colors in public, all is good.
I have never understood why Americans insist their country is so damned free, but also seem to be so paranoid about future government overreach.
That “paranoia” is what keeps us free.
