A military outpost in southern Syria was hit by a coordinated attack on Wednesday, but a U.S. official said no American troops stationed there were injured or killed.
The official said the attack appeared to include at least one drone strike and possibly groundfire. It was not yet clear who carried out the attack.
U.S. and coalition troops are based at the al-Tanf garrison to train local Syrian opposition forces on patrols to counter Islamic State militants.

Why the F##k do we have troops in Syria?
Well, sure we did. And all that military equipment should have gone to the Kurds. They would take the appropriate actions and bring peace to the living.
Special Operators. A few years ago they killed as many as 150 Russian Wagner Spetznaz, when they crossed an agreed upon demarcation/deconfliction line.

The Russians are in Syria at the invitation of the Syrian government; we are in Syria at the invitation of, well, us (which has always been okay to us).
If we are in the country illegally and we killed 150 people who are there legally, how did this not create an international stir?
Wagner Russians are covert/mercenary mostly former spetznaz. They go at the will of Putin and or his oligarchs in Russia.
That was highly humiliating for Russia, so they write it off as the cost of business. They don’t give a left chit about those guys, they are expendable.
