Louisiana fathers are taking matters into their own hands after repeated violence broke out in one school, where 23 students were arrested over just a three-day period.
"We're dads. We decided the best people who can take care of our kids are who? Are us," father Michael LaFitte told CBS News.
LaFitte launched a group called Dads on Duty, sparking 40 fathers to sign up and take shifts at Southwood High School in Shreveport to maintain a peaceful environment...
"I immediately felt a form of safety," one of the students said. "We stopped fighting; people started going to class."
"You ever heard of 'a look?'" one student asked while describing a "power" the student said all fathers have.
The students said that along with the dads bringing more safety to school, they also crack dad jokes during their shifts.

Kudos to these dads for standing up. But how long before they are labeled domestic terrorists?
may possibly be the first time some saw a real male authority figure.
Good Dads!!
Only a matter of time before that national school board organization starts referring to them as the vigilante branch of the supposed domestic terrorists they’re so worried about.
See what happens when Godly men take a stand.
This is a very commendable idea. But school districts hate lawsuits. So I fear it will end the first time a dad is forced to defend himself in an altercation. Kid gets put in his place. Parents call a lawyer.
All “animals” instinctively know the the big alpha males are round and about and chill out. Of course there will be an occasional honey bager or Tanzanian devil, but those will just examples of when happens to you when you start mixing it up with a pride of alpha males.
“Youth and vitality is no match for old age, guts, tenacity, cunning, and treachery.” lol
I’ve always said too bad there aren’t more male teachers.
Remember Principal Joe from Kennedy HS in Patterson,NJ, walking the hallways with a baseball bat? I remember the posts here when 43 flew him to DC for consideration for some Dept of Ed post.
Proving it doesn’t take a village, it takes a Dad!
They have to be given some sort of authority with clout other then just be male !
How long before the Attorney General targets these parents?
It’s a great idea. Other schools should learn from this and do likewise.
Sadly it’ll take just one pedophile in their ranks to bring this all crashing down, because we’re not allowed to deal with people like that in our communities anymore.
It can be staffed by kids who are proud of their dads. Like picking cheerleaders-wholesome types. Not always at my school!
When I went to school we had a male cafeteria teacher who woild, beat the crap out of kids who acted up. He was ex Green beret, and one day a ,I’d was walking past him and mouthed off to him, he turned and grabbed the kid by the throat, and lifted him off the ground and slammed him against the wall. Another time a fight broke out in the cafeteria, and he jumped over the counter, up onto the tables, food f.ying everywhere, and leapt onto, the, kids who were fighting and floored them both. The whole cafeteria went silent lol.
How he ever kept his job without being sued ill never know, but he was there all 4 years that I was there.
Another shop teacher grabbed a kid by the throat till the kid’s face went purple. .
There were other not so serious things that happened that never wlild be allowed today. It was just a different Era back then.
Yes, Kudos to those dads!
Repeat LOUD and OFTEN..............................
Folks, tell this story often to others.
“more male teachers.”
Hope they’re like the dad’s, and not pajama boy.
