NEWRY — The richest known hard rock lithium deposit in the world lies a few miles northeast of the ski slopes of Sunday River and not far from Step Falls, where swimmers can wade in shallow pools formed by hundreds of feet of cascading granite ledge.

Smaller deposits have been known in Maine for decades, but this recent discovery, just north of Plumbago Mountain in Newry, is the first to have a major resource potential.

The EPA and every enviro wacko group will be there to make sure not one bit of dirt is disturbed until the end of time because of any old thing they want.

At current market prices, the deposit, thought to contain 11 million tons of ore, is valued at roughly $1.5 billion.

That used to be a lot.......................

Last thing Biden’s ChiCom paymasters want is the United States developing their own lithium supplies.

Look for Red China to put pressure on their stooge Joe to nip this in the bud.

They may have to buy more Hunter paintings, though.

This is a major game changer for America.

This could take quite a bit of pressure off us depending on China for lithium.

Challenge, don’t worry, they’ll discover some ant or something that is at risk and therefore ban the mining.

“At current market prices, the deposit, thought to contain 11 million tons of ore, is valued at roughly $1.5 billion.”

Lithium ore is worth only ~ $135 a ton?

Biden will just declare the deposits off limit, no need to bother the EPA.

There are probably some “endangered red ants” at risk, if any mining is done. Or something like that BS.

Tear the town up and pollute the heck out of it. So that the liberals can push their chemical polluting EV’s on the world.

The FJB Admin with EOs and the EPA will administer draconian regulations, hosts of environmental wackos will clog the courts with lawsuits. It will be decades before anything happens, like the sand iron mines in Northern Wisconsin, if ever.

The Biden plan is not to mine any lithium, or anything else in America (and lithium has specifically been mentioned by Dems as being off limits in the U.S.). Dems are going to depend on foreign countries to supply the U.S.

China is #4. I don't think this is a bid deal to them as they are nowhere near a monopoly on this. It's not like the rare earths.

With unlimited funding from George Soros and laundered money from China to litigate over every blade of grass.

For large fixed contracts, the annual average U.S. lithium carbonate price was $13,000 per metric ton in 2019, a 24% decrease from that of 2018.

Spot lithium hydroxide prices in China decreased from approximately $15,500 per ton at the beginning of the year to about $8,000 per ton in December.
