You are thinking backwards.....The VA election may have an effect on the bill’s vote. If McAwful is beat bad enough it will scare the hell out of the Dems IMHO
I think they are all in at this point. They know that they are going to lose the House in 2022, so they are just trying to get everything that they want done between now and then.
