At some point those hispanics who are here are not going to want anymore competition from those wanting to get in. And they’re going to favor policies that afford them better economic opportunities. Many will probably start voting R.
Once Dems realize this political reality they will decide to complete building the wall with great urgency.
The Dems will never support a secure border. Hispanics (among other foreigners) constantly coming is the only way the Dems can counteract the American Hispanics who are increasingly turning Republican. Trump, for example, got a much, much lower percentage of the vote from Hispanic immigrants or children of immigrants than the vote of Hispanics with roots in the US. Roughly speaking, third-generation and above Hispanics vote almost like whites, while Hispanic immigrants vote almost like blacks. The Dems will always want this steady stream flooding in to prevent the assimilation of Hispanics into US culture, which makes them significantly more inclined to vote R.
Of course, as we’ve already seen the Dems will encourage more reliably Dem illegals to come like Haitians, which is another reason they need the border to remain open.
