Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville blamed "stupid wokeness" for the resounding losses the Democratic Party sustained in Tuesday's elections across the country.
Carville made the comments while being interviewed by Judy Woodruff on "PBS Newshour" Wednesday.
"What went wrong is just stupid wokeness. Alright, don't just look at Virginia and New Jersey. Look at Long Island, look at Buffalo, look at Minneapolis, even look at Seattle, Washington. I mean, this 'defund the police' lunacy, this take Abraham Lincoln's name off of schools. I mean that — people see that," Carville said emphatically. "It's just really — has a suppressive effect all across the country on the Democrats. Some of these people need to go to a 'woke' detox center or something," he continued. "They're expressing a language that people just don't use, and there's backlash and a frustration at that."
Carville went on to point out that Republican Glenn Youngkin, who won the gubernatorial election in Virginia, never aired political ads against President Joe Biden, instead he let the Democrats implode on their own.
"We got to change this and not be about changing dictionaries and change laws," Carville added. "These faculty lounge people that sit around mulling about I don't know what. They're not working."
Carville pointed out that the extremist demonstrations in Seattle, including the creation of an anti-police 'autonomous zone,' had led to the election of a Republican into the Office of the Seattle City Attorney.
"Autonomous zone? Who could even think of something that stupid?!" he asked.
Carville has consistently harangued the party about straying so far to the left that they lose their traditional voter base. His complaints mirrored those of Van Jones and David Axelrod on CNN who opined that Democrats had lost because they were "annoying" and out of touch.
"And I got news for you, you're hurting the party, you've hurting the very people you're trying to help!" Carville concluded.

It takes one to know one.
When Dems tell the truth no one votes for them.
Batface Carville is always on the wrong side of all issues just like Judas Joe and tried to blame everyone else. He is considered one of the misguided leaders of the Dems.
Buffalo is a real big deal. That’s Schumer country.
Its too late for detox centers.
The “woke genie” is out of the bottle and isn’t going back in.
The answer is to kill the genie politically. You do that by tying woke to every Democrat running for office.
If the candidate renounces a “woke issue” during their campaign, it’ll peel off some of their progressive base, which are the true believer/blue koolaid types.
this is what happens when politicians embrace and weaponize everything Mr. Carvel. you helped to create the mess your party has.
The good news is the Dems are stuck on stupid. They will not listen to this and will double down on their idiotic agenda going into 2022. They will do nothing to save themselves from a disaster.
The “wifey” might be helping Carville get a clue on this.
Carville, whose successful strategy was “never actually tell the public what you want to do if you’re elected.” It worked fir the male Clinton and the POC Obama, but the female Clinton couldn’t help herself and said what she really thought, as did McAuliffe.

“And I got news for you, you’re hurting the party, you’ve hurting the very people you’re trying to help!” Carville concluded.
He’s talking about the DNC here. The DNC, approaches beehive mentality and order (the FDR years) and has not achieved their goal (approaching Maoism). Is the DNC a soft revolutionary and underhanded tactics party? And the flow is being disrupted? Not by counter revolutionaries, but by the newly empowered and destructive Leftest fringe?
That’s pitiful... and probably too late. Is that all he’s got?
Why doesn’t Jim fully unload? Is there a book deal offering a path back to a centrist DNC? Can Carville unload, hit the talk circuit, create some buzz, put a lid on the fringe and make some moolah in the process? Without offending anyone within that party? Really?
Or is this the last futile blast of James Carville as he slips off to political irrelevancy?
It might prove interesting to see what happens with this “breaking news.”

He supported the lame Lincoln Project stunt because he thought it would work.
He changed his tune about the whole thing after it didn’t.
What Carville is saying is that the DNC needs a “Sista Souldja” moment like the one his old boss Bill Clinton delivered during his first campaign for president. But Carville is barking at the moon here. Feeble and confused, Joe Biden doesn’t have it in him. If there were an impulse in that direction, there’s really no way it could happen as the Biden Administration has been completely captured by Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren after being launched by Barak Obama. He’d be tagged with the 25th Amendment the instant the discussion came up.
