I think I see your mistake. You’re trying to apply logic to a Climate Change problem. That is simply not permitted.
Can’t be true - I had a family member inform me that sea level rise was a particular problem in Florida.

The thing is, the ocean may be the same level, but land masses actually drop and rise. So the “sea level” at one point on some beach may increase over the decades, while the sea level at another point recedes, and yet another remains unchanged.
