U.S. President Joe Biden climbed behind the wheel of an electric Hummer vehicle on Wednesday and sped off with a screeching of tires, in a test drive to tout billions in electric vehicle investment.

"Anyone want to jump in the back, or on the roof?" Biden asked reporters after taking a few laps at a General Motors plant. "These suckers are something else!"

Although I've never tried it my diesel's "distance to empty" meter read,the other day,877 miles just after I filled up. I've actually gotten 810 mainly Interstate miles (some city "stop & go") from a tankful.

My dad has a late 90s or early 00s longbed Dodge diesel he bought used.

Great truck and people still try to buy it from him.

It had a surprise for him early on.

The gauge is a quarter tank off.

At the 1/4 mark, maybe a minute of run time.

I know only too well. For a while I drove it after losing my Tacoma in a flood.

Rarely did it drop below half a tank.

One time I did by being complacent and as I was leaving the job one day I saw it just above a quarter tank. I got to a truck stop 10 miles away and was extra cautious since.

If it was a shortbed, I would love to have it.
