CALEXICO, Calif. (AP) — A truck driver was arrested after border officers discovered nearly half a ton of methamphetamine hidden inside a tractor-trailer that entered San Diego County from Mexico, authorities said.
A search was ordered after officers grew suspicious about one of the walls inside the trailer when the truck was stopped at the Calexico East Commercial Facility.
A K-9 team helped officers discover 30 wrapped packages of meth weighing more than 865 pounds (392 kilograms.
The drugs have an estimated street value of more than $1.5 million, officials said.
The driver, a 27-year-old Mexican citizen, was arrested on suspicion of smuggling.

My name Jose Jimenez....
"Calexico"
865 lbs of meth is quite a party...
Do they ever find illegal drugs going from the US to Mexico?
Is this vegan meth? Produced with sustainable energy?
No, just stolen cars and trucks...
“arrested on suspicion of smuggling.” Yeah, I think maybe.
Honest mistake
And lots of US currency
Hunter’s stash.
Imagine how much meth, oxy, and various other narcotics are lugged over the border by the shiny eyed wives and children of your neighborhood dish-washers bring in.
It’s not just the lecherous abuses of our social services, schools, hospitals, and deliberately ignoring all of our laws. There’s a lot of death and suffering they bring along with them.
But then again, that’s kinda rashist of me to point out...
Hunter will be bummed out.
That’s like enough to last him a week.
Calexico is in Imperial County not San Diego County.
Dump it in Mexico City’s water supply.
I couldn’t agree more with your post. I am the mother of a former addict. Fortunately, he has been clean for many years now and has full custody of his daughter. There was much pain and tears to get to where we are today.
Back in 2013, I attended every community meeting I could. I wanted to know as much as I could about this monster I was fighting. At the time, I was informed by law enforcement that the heroin trade was being actively marketed to young suburban white males. Nothing like destroying our Country from within.
When I posted that I received all kinds of nasty replies. “you don’t know what you are talking about” “you are full of it” And yet, young white males have the most problem with addiction. Hmmm. Like I said, crossing the border and destroying our Country from within.
When they loaded my truck they swore it was Coors Beer.*
*Why was Coors beer illegal in the past?
Because of laws surrounding preservation and pasteurization, Coors was illegal to distribute in many states, including those east of the Mississippi River. It wasn’t fully legal until 1986 when Coors became a national product.
That is a very observant officer. Should get a promotion or raise.
Snowman, is that you?
He should just claim it was for personal use. :-)
