Sens. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) and Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) are urging President Biden not to nominate Jerome Powell to serve another term as chairman of the Federal Reserve, warning that his refusal to use the Fed to prepare the economy for the impact of climate change is a major problem.
The Democratic senators join Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), who are trying to steer Biden away from Powell, who was appointed chairman by President Trump, and toward picking Lael Brainard, the only Democrat on the central bank’s seven-member board.
“Jerome Powell refuses to recognize climate change as an urgent and systemic economic threat,” Whitehouse and Merkley wrote in a joint statement.

My prediction is handful of Dems will vote against him but the GOP will happily assist (with one or two exceptions...)
Appoint Kamala as Fed chair. Get the show on down the road. You’re heading that way anyway, just do it more quickly.

I don’t think too much of Jerome and his money printing machines, but considering his enemies, he’s looking better and better.

Money is the base of society and the foundation of the entire economy, and centralized money issuance is absolute power. The left wants that.

The GOP will vote in big numbers for Powell.. Maybe half of Dems won’t but it doesn’t matter.

Yep. Powell is the best we can hope from Biden. Though Trump should have done better with this appointment.
Powell was last nominated by TRUMP.

The quicker the Fed is destroyed, the better. Vote for the person who will destroy it. Stop limping along with commie lite. Go full commie and bring it down.
