Santa Cruz County in California issued a mask mandate for all indoor settings, including private homes, ahead of the holiday season.
The mandate went into effect at 11:59 p.m. on November 21 and requires “all individuals to wear a face covering when indoors regardless of vaccination status.”
Unfortunately, a potential winter surge appears to be a significant threat to the health and safety of our community,” said Santa Cruz County Health Officer Dr. Gail Newel in the announcement. “As we look forward to spending time with those we love during the holidays, it is important to protect vulnerable friends and family members by wearing a mask indoors.
The mandate requires masks for private homes when “non-household members” are in attendance.

For a moment I thought this was the Babylon Bee.
And they are going to enforce this how?
I’m picturing millions of people wearing masks at dinner...and nothing else.

Anyone who believes that this is going to take place as ordered in any elite household only needs to recall 0bama's birthday party - that's how they really behave, that's who they really are. And within this is the unmistakable fetid aroma of politicians so besotted with power that they actually think "Sure, we'll allow them to have their Thanksgiving but only on our terms." They'll be ignored, and not only over Thanksgiving.
Aaaand...my mind went straight to Monty Python “But I didn’t have the salmon!!!”
If those county commissioners done ALL have protests in front of their homes ON THANKSGIVING DAY
AAAAAND
have the local major thoroughfare shut down…
then that county is getting what it deserves.
Resist we must. Or shoot. I’m OK with either avenue.
