Chris Christie aims to shape future for GOP and for himself

NEW YORK (AP) — Chris Christie is everywhere.

The former New Jersey governor and onetime Republican presidential candidate denounced “conspiracy theorists” during a September appearance at the Ronald Reagan Library in California. He followed up with a speech this month to influential Republicans in Las Vegas, warning that the party will only succeed if it offers a “plan for tomorrow, not a grievance about yesterday.”

In between, he’s been interviewed by everyone from Laura Ingraham on Fox News to David Axelrod, a former adviser to President Barack Obama, on CNN.

On its face, Christie’s publicity campaign is in service of “Republican Rescue,” his new book that offers a simple prescription for his party: stop talking nonsense about 2020 and focus on the future — or keep losing elections. But the frenzied pace of his appearances and the increasingly obvious jabs at Donald Trump suggest Christie is plotting a political comeback with the 2024 campaign in mind.

First observation: this puff piece is the Narrative Media’s early, and expected, start at picking the designated GOP loser. In 2016 they had it lined up with Jeb but Trump pooped on that.

Second: Christie and the rest of the GOPe are lining up to assume the throne because this is how it always worked with the old line/pre-Trump GOP.

Third: Just put Romney’s face snd voice on whoever the GOPe advance. A bunch of conciliatory robots that apologize for not being democrats by attacking conservatives viciously while having nary a bad thing to say about their supposed political opponents,

Fourth: As I write this the GOP is vigorously trying to figure out how to rig the primary systems. Well, continuing their efforts. They are trying to figure a way to shove a Christie or Pence or Hogan or dare I say, Romney down our throats.

Fifth: they can try all they want, there is no constituency outside the pundit class and the club elites for these idiots.

From a political standpoint, the MAGA movement alone is converting classes of reliably Dem voters to our camp. It isn’t about a cult following of one man. The Christie’s of the world don’t get this. They dismiss the movement as a cult.

Add to this cocktail that the DemoMarxists are turning off everyone to their policies and especially rule by COVID (read totalitarianism). Woke alone is causing resentment toward the Dems that I didn’t even see during the Carter years (was a child then, but I remember).

And Christie wants to play nice and “shape the GOP” back to being go along, get along losers. That party thst appealed to the Karen’s but nobody else.

I will never vote for an aquatic mammal, especially not one that rebuked Rand Paul during the 2016 primary after he had the temerity to say “Get a warrant”.

Other than Christie himself, who is calling for his leadership and acumen?! It’s a joke.

Talk about a DC establishment puke, Chris Christie is it! He’s also a made man in the eyes of the Chicago mob!

Lower taxes, smaller government, strong national defense, strict border control, and a judiciary that adheres to The Constitution. That's the plan for tomorrow. And any candidate who espouses those ideas and sticks to them will win in a landslide.

It took me a minute, but I see what you did there.

Does not compute.

You need a large and very powerful government to do what you want done.

You just need to hang a few members of the "donor community" first to encourage the others to support a government run by American patriots working in the interests of the American people - AND NO OTHERS.

Christie seems to be the Democrats choice to be the GOP’s candidate in 2024. There will be a lot of positive stories up to the point he becomes the nominee and then the knifes come. Not that I expect Christie will get anywhere near the primary votes needed, but the left will do all they can to help.

NJFatboy has about the same odds of being the R nominee as Beta does of becoming Governor of Texas.

“”””Chris Christie aims to shape future for GOP and for himself”””

Chris Christie needs to get himself in SHAPE before telling anyone else about the shape they are in.

The DNC has now picked the GOP candidate for 2024.
Jeb II and almost as clueless.
Note that Axelrod was also involved in picking Jeb fo 2016 in his meeting in Jackson, WY with GOP-e leadership.
Paul Ryan, Turtle, Romney and Rubio were all there too.

He can’t be this delusional. Someone is paying Christie to be a distraction.
