When many Americans come across the term "integration," thoughts of Black students enrolling in predominately white schools likely come to mind.
However, one Midwestern school district is turning this narrative on its head by having white students desegregate predominately Black institutions.
Minneapolis recently unveiled a citywide plan to rezone school districts to combat rising segregation rates in the city's public education system. The New York Times reported approximately one-third of students throughout the city (about 10,000) were assigned to new schools, emphasizing getting white kids into predominately Black academies....

This happened in Boston on the 70s with “bussing”. I was caught on the middle of it when I was a middle schooler. Got beat up a few times getting caught in a hallway in an area with the wrong color skin. Liberals didn’t care about the kids.
This concept isn’t new, but it’s destined for abysmal failure. It was tried 50 years ago in cities like San Francisco (i.e., busing white and Asian kids out of their neighborhoods to schools in the predominantly black neighborhoods). Only the poorest or most out-to-lunch white parents submit to these schemes. Everyone else either moves or enrolls their kid in private or parochial school.
Didn’t we try that with bussing? Did not turn out well.
Just one dead white kid......
Annnd after all these years, blacks still aren’t pissed off that the only way their kid gets a good education is to have whites and Asians there.......
Apparently, that was the actual intent of the initiative, right?

I still have the scar from being stabbed by a student bussed into my neighborhood school.

Get rid of the “affirmative action” BS, eliminate “Hate Crimes”, stop “dumbing down” academics and trying to force everyone to get along.
Let the parents send their kids to the school of their choice.

This is exactly what happened to my wife, in San Francisco in 1969. She was bussed to Hunters Point, then and now predominantly black. Her school days were not happy.
The response in San Francisco was that a huge proportion of the population left the school district, one way or another. The district enrollment collapsed by half over ten years, many families moving to the suburbs, others filling up San Francisco’s very large collection of private schools.

This won’t happen and is likely being used as a threat to get more money for black schools. The problem is that money does not improve black test scores. Iirc St Louis put over a billion dollars into improving black schools and the scores didn’t significantly improve.
Happened in Boston. Did not go well. Was called busing.
I went to public school in Wilmington DE.
Blacks were probably 25%, but felt like 70% of the students.
Inner city blacks are undisciplined, uneducated pieces of ****.
All this will do is ruin white children’s lives, that’s it.
If I were a White parent in that district, I would get the he!! out of there...post haste.
ENOUGH with the race experiments. If everyone acted civilly, there would be NO need for race to be a factor in ANYTHING.

All you will do is have a rotating white school with blacks lagging them. I don’t want decent kids being brought down by trash.
