“whole genome sequencing of the the woman’s test was completed Thursday morning”

Did they do individuals like that with Delta? Usually, or always (as I understood it), they sent a batch of PCR positives to a separate lab and ran the special test there, not attached to individuals.

Is this a different Covidian strategy playing out? If so, guess why.

I think you are right.
Except perhaps due to contact tracing, they may be sending specific samples out for sequencing at this time due to known exposure to SA or other locales.
See my post above - it may be too late to bother with individual testing and go back to the random batch sampling.
