Bob Dole is to be commended for his service and sacrifice to the nation.
But as a US Senator, he was part of the “loyal opposition” and as a GOP nominee for President in 1996, he was very weak, almost pathetic, and that’s putting it politely.
Ross Perot strikes again - third party runs are the ultimate controlled opposition.
Clinton 49% - Dole 40% - Perot 9%.
Nobody disputes the fact that Perot’s 9% came totally from Republicans - otherwise it would have been a dead tie.
