Set during the 1950-1953 Korean war, the film favorably highlights the heroism of Chinese soldiers during a key battle—the Battle of Lake Changjin [Chosin Reservoir] (and referred to as “the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea” in China).

The Frozen Chosin will no doubt have too much class for that.
Why would this surprise anyone. We are the enemy. Would expect the CCP to have a film where they lose?
The feigned “outrage” over this is simply stupid.
I’m sure they can dig up some relevant Chesty Puller quotes. :)
yes, the ChoSen Few. I had the opportunity to here from a vet a firsthand experience about the battle. Unreal.
Technical the Korean Police Action has never been settled there is a cease fire but no peace. We are still at war with the ChiComs only we have forgotten but they haven’t. That’s Nixon’s and Kissinger’s fault.
If I never see any evidence of Chinese “culture” again I will be a happy man.
I certainly won’t demean myself or the Corps by over-reacting to this typical communist propaganda...
At age 88, nothing like that surprises or excites me...
However, hopefully my gravestone will read: “The only good chicom is a dead chicom”...
They are the Chosen Few and they will not lend any substance to a chicom propaganda film.
They were not beaten by the chicoms. They were put in an unwinnable situation by MacArthur and his pencil pushing water-boy Almond. General O.P. Smith of the Marines knew enough to build an airfield at Hagaru-ri to be able to evacuate many wounded.
The Army unit on the East side of the reservoir were slaughtered by the chicoms and wounded were murdered.
The only good commie is a dead one.
There is a documentary on Prime which pretty much covers it. It was the over whelming of the UN troops.*Mostly Marines and Army units. (Yes there were also Army units there.)It may have been a victory for the Chinese, but tell that to the thousands of Chicoms casualties that had to be bulldozed into the frozen ground in mass graves. Was NK worth the Chinese sacrifice? I doubt it.
is there an American bootleg so we can rip them off?
Sir we are surrounded.. “ good, that greatly reduces the equation”
they still have san pueblo and I’m still mad
Well considering the Chinese were worried the Americans were gonna push across the Yalu River right into China and instead they were able to keep the DPRK as a buffer state and 70 years later the ChiComs are still in control - I’d say it was worth it. The better question is whether South Korea was worth it for the United Nations forces.
That was one hell of a ‘victory’ for the chinks.
US and United Nations casualties: 1,029 killed, 4,582 wounded, and 4,894 missing.
Estimated Chinese casualties: 19,202 combat casualties and 28,954 non-combat casualties.
The fight for Chosin Reservoir reduced the PVA 9th Army by one-third, and it remained out of action for another three months.
It’s just the USS Pueblo.
Killed and missing:
China: 600,000
USA: 36,000
Amen to that.
