The Tower of Babel stuff. So, definitely before the Greeks and maybe even before the Sumerians.

Secret society stuff, like the cult of Enoch.

They hide among the conservatives and use much the same language as conservatives, but they don’t have the same worldview of conservatism.

A good example in contemporary culture of a non-Christian worldview not used to advocate the nihilism of the Left would be the early Star Wars movies directed by George Lucas, who was an admirer of Joseph Campbell, a scholar whose works covered common threads like heroism in different cultures. While Lucas's Star Wars movies had courageous male heroes, plucky heroines, and unabashedly evil villains, the underlying themes were universalist and basically pagan, e.g., the Force. These movies differed from the works of Tolkien and C.S. Lewis's, which had specifically Christian themes, e.g., Aslan as a Christ like character.

To the question of the sincerity of the rulers of Russia and their commitment to Orthodox Christianity, it must be remembered that deception has been a hallmark of Communist practices. The militant atheism of the Soviet Union was discredited despite 70 years of anti-religious propaganda. Putin and the Russian leadership knew that continuing the atheism of the recent past would be doomed to failure domestically. For the price of a Sign of the Cross, restoring the past honor to old Tsarist leaders, raising the pre-1918 national flag, and veneration of an icon, the ex-KGB and Communist leadership would appear to have rejected the past of Lenin, Stalin, Khrushchev, and Brezhnev and to have returned to the ancient traditions of Russia.

What is the reality? In foreign affairs, Russia continues the policy of supporting Marxist and radical Muslim regimes, such as Cuba, Venezuela, and Iran. They are aligned with Communist China, and have engaged in war games with them for over a decade. China, Russia. and Iran have a common goal, the weakening and ultimate defeat of the United States and its Western and East Asian allies
