I would hope that we had the sense and the guts to do exactly the same thing, and to make sure that our enemies or potential enemies (China, Iran, NK, etc.) knew that. That’s the essence of deterrence - having both the means and the will to use at least commensurate force against any enemy that has the capacity to seriously damage us in any attack on our homeland.
