Heartbreaking. Remember this playoff OT pass to Thomas?

I don't think I ever cheered so loud on a play as I did that one.......RIP.

Yet it is sad. 33 is only getting old by the standards of most pro sports.

The longer field goals are mostly attributed to the soccer style kick rather than genetics.

Credit Jan Stenerud and Pete Gogolak, Europeans who were perplexed as to why American football kickers were kicking "goals" such an odd, inefficient way.

I saw that, too. The truth one way or the other might come out in the news coverage now, but so far I don’t think it has.

Another report said he’d possibly been having seizures lately. And the Fox story I quoted from here says the symptoms said to be from that accident were making him hesitant to travel now. It is curious because he only retired this past June, if I recall what I read earlier correctly. Not sure how much he actually played since that accident. But if he didn’t retire, he was then presumably ready to go and cleared to play.

Just look at some of the old college football yearbook photos!

Found this on the web: “Richard Nixon, who was 5-foot-11 and weighed 175 pounds, played tackle. Most kickers are bigger than that nowadays.”

The problem with vaccinating athletes and other public people is that their reactions cannot be hidden in undisclosed statistics, as is done with the ‘little people’.

If Fauchi had half a brain, he would have never required these people to vaccinate, only to fake it and use Ivermectin instead (as the Democrats have done from the beginning).

Before it was learned that former middleweight champion Marvelous Marvin Hagler had died on March 13, his friend and former opponent Tommy Hearns took to Instagram and wrote that Hagler was in the hospital battling side effects after a vaccination. Then Hagler’s widow announced that he had died. Hearns subsequently deleted his initial post. Did he have inside information? Fact-check.org says there is “No evidence” Hagler died after a vaccine side effect.

I do have to say… it appears to be mathematical. Watching old black and white games, good luck finding a 6’7” 295 pound player. Now they are the majority. When I watch how big these players are it’s a wonder they aren’t hurt more frequently. Mass and velocity. Could be the nasty food we eat, also. Epigenesis and my diet… not friends. But ice cream is my thing.

Report: 95 percent of Broncos players have at least one COVID-19 vaccine shot - ProFootballTalk (nbcsports.com)

And:

Mike Klis on Twitter: "Per league source, Broncos are at nearly 95% of players who are either fully vaccinated or have taken one shot. This in addition to all of Fangio’s coaching staff and football staff on path to full vaccination. #9sports" / Twitter

From what I see on Wikipedia, his last season where he actually played was apparently 2019-2020. It certainly doesn’t mean he wasn’t vaccinated, though.

But just think of how much he would have suffered from Covid if he had been unvaccinated.

But not unheard of. Sometimes there can be cardiac disorders in athletes that are so subtle that they can be missed by even skilled physicians. Reggie Lewis (Boston Celtics) is an example. His case is well remembered by me because a Cardiologist at the hospital where I worked for decades told him he could play not long before he died. The doctor involved was,and still is,world famous.

Good posting......NFL players aren't the only players to suffer. There are many ex-NHL players suffering from the head injuries they sustained while playing.

If you get a chance, check out the life of ex-NHL player Joe Murphy.
