I have been saying for years that the NCAA and the NFL are going to have to make the field longer and wider. The players are getting bigger, stronger, quicker and faster. That is my opinion because the injuries are more complex and more severe.
For example, when I first started watching football in the 50s, the longest field goal was 43 yards. Now it is 66 yards.
Now there are 300 pound men running the 40 yard dash in under 5 seconds.
I think that is why injuries are more severe now.

I do have to say… it appears to be mathematical. Watching old black and white games, good luck finding a 6’7” 295 pound player. Now they are the majority. When I watch how big these players are it’s a wonder they aren’t hurt more frequently. Mass and velocity. Could be the nasty food we eat, also. Epigenesis and my diet… not friends. But ice cream is my thing.
Side effects from years of roid use?
