The United States has been through waves, spikes and surges of Covid-19 throughout the pandemic, and now there is concern that the nation may be entering a new winter surge.
Sometimes scientists know which factors drive a new rise in cases, but some surges have been inconsistent and hard to predict. Eventually, scientists suspect the rise and fall of coronavirus infections could shift into a more typical seasonal pattern.
Early next year, health officials plan to begin serious talks about what the pandemic's end might look like and how will we know when we've reached that point.

I find it questionable that science, which has spent lifetimes trying to cure the common cold without success, now tells us they will be able to protect us against future Covid variants with vaccines that will magically appear on a seasonal basis. Guess I’m somewhere between skeptical and totally disbelieve on this news.

I started out as skeptical and after listening to those so-called experts I am now in total disbelief.
Or perhaps this part of the IQ test probes a segment of our students’ minds which they prefer not to access?
Seasonal...It’s called a cold.
It seems like us conservatives were saying that from the very beginning. You’ll never get rid of it completely and it will turn into a seasonal thing that spreads around in the warmer summer months in the south when everyone is inside and in the cooler months in the northern part of the country.
However, if you did say that earlier and you were branded a science denier because the vaccines were clearly eradicate this from the globe.

Yep just like flu season since covid is a virus and the flu is a virus.
Does anyone know how many flu cases have been reported this year?
Correction: Like the other rhino viruses currently known as the seasonal flu, Covid19 will join them as an annual recurring thing, AND the condition will settle into a new status quo no less nor more alarming than the seasonal flu has been.
