I would agree with the assessment of milquetoast.

Not that I support him, but in his defense, if the state legislatures who have the enumerated constitutional authority to actually overturn elections, cant be bothered with the effort, why should the VP step into the fire? The state GOP controled legislatures did not provide any cover.

To the benefit of whom? Seems he was more interested in dodging responsibility and trying to protect his own political image instead of being a courageous leader.

Pence doesn’t have Trump’s fighting instincts. I’d like to see him more passionately defend his decision. Maybe he’ll get to debate Trump in the primaries.
