If a Realtor lies to you, report her/him/it. Failing to observe the Code of Ethics can cost her/him/it a job and a license.
I've been licensed for 36 years and always answer those kinds of questions with an offer to direct the client to the appropriate sources of information. I explain that I can be stripped of my license for an answer that can be misconstrued as bigotry, even unintended.
