Williams Formula One driver Nicholas Latifi said that he has received death threats for his involvement in the controversial finish of the championship-deciding season finale in Abu Dhabi. Latifi crashed with five laps to go, which led to a safety car period and decisions by the race director that erased the commanding lead held by Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton and set up a pass to claim the win and title by Red Bull's Max Verstappen on a final green flag lap.

They should have held the race in Yaba Daba instead.
I watched the race, it was a pretty legit wreck. I’d find him not guilty. If it was staged to affect the outcome I suspect it would have happened differently with a lesser impact.
Not the behavior I expected from F1 fans.
I’d give him a medal.
Kind of like Joe Manchin, he helped give the Progressive Woke Hamilton the shaft.
I think in Europe there’s actually quite a big overlap with soccer fans, and you know what those guys are like, LOL.
Poor guy doesn’t deserve that, he just spun out. He didn’t do it on purpose. Now I will say that while I’m much happier that Verstappen won than Hamilton, that was some seriously hinky stuff that the race director did. But as a casual NASCAR fan, I’m used to hinky stuff from race officials.

There’s also a LOT of wagering on F-1, and I suspect this is what caused the ruckus.

That makes a lot of sense, too. Especially those who bet on Hamilton. But as I understand it, they should be more upset with the race stewards than Latifi.
