Hard to know with the Democrats not facing any real political opposition. The GOP is not interested in winning.

Republicans cower.

************

That’s what happens when you have no principles or convictions. As the old saying goes “when you stand for nothing you’ll fall for everything.” That typifies what Republicans are all about. In fact, it defines them.

I don’t get your point. Illinois goes from 13D-5R to 14D-3R that means we lose 3 net seats. that’s pretty bad. NY will likely be worse.

Indiana 1st has been a goner for decades

If anybody is from Indiana, maybe you can ask your state party why they drew the 1st House district safe for Democrats, when it could have been cleanly drawn for GOP?

No. Indiana 1st is trending R, and by swapping a couple counties it could be lean R. It wouldn’t even require a squiggly gerrymander.

Where does the other Illinois seat go? Most likely to a state that has a GOP majority … and will be redistricted with the opposite effect.

Maybe, maybe not. 5 new seats are in GOP states, 2 in Democrat states. Republican states (Ohio, WV) and swing states (PA, MI) are also losing seats.

In any event, its a net loss.

Reps are so intimidated by the false media narrative of racially drawing lines against dims. Meanwhile, dims go for the throat.

That says it perfectly.

“Reps are so intimidated by the false media narrative of racially drawing lines against dims. Meanwhile, dims go for the throat.”
“That says it perfectly.”

Except that it has no basis in fact. Republicans actually want higher black % districts, it helps them in the other districts. Not everything is about race.

True. It’s a net loss IN ONE STATE.

It’s a net loss NATIONALLY. Democrats are eliminating more Republican seats than are being replaced.

“They sue if they don’t get their way. Republicans cower.”

That’s for sure. In NC, the Dems fought redistricting in 2010 for the whole 10 years and are gearing up to fight it for the next 10. The 2022 primaries have already been delayed.

So the gop controlled opposition is undercutting it’s own position. No surprise. The gop exists to provide the perception, but not the reality, of an opposition political party. The US is a de facto one party state and has been for a long time. We can continue to beat our heads against that wall. Or not. It’s our choice. Speaking for myself. I have better things to do than be part of a controlled opposition.

Hopefully conservatives will continue working on cultural separation and divorce. We actually have some ability to make some positive change there.

** Democrat controlled states have savagely eliminated Republican districts in Illinois, **

Kitzinger’s district was one of them.

Anybody know why we previously got what is seemingly contradictory information about Republican-favoring redistricting in November 2021?
GOP already has enough safe seats — through redistricting alone — to win back House in '22 (11.16.21)

Sadly, the cold war history of the Civil War seems to be repeating itself with unfair redistricting.

More specifically, not only did the original drafters of the Constitution give the states the express constitutional guarantee of a Republican form of government, Article IV, Section 4, but the predominately Republican federal drafters of the 14th Amendment (14A), Section 2, had included the "in any way abridged" wording of section 2. Section 2 is a precaution for punishing predominately Democratic southern states if they did anything to weaken the new voting power of the freedmen, "in any way abridged" certainly including political party-favoring redistricting imo.

And now we have Democrats (and GOP?) seemingly bragging about redistricting as if they didn't know that section 2 of 14A exists.

Insights welcome.

The ultimate remedy for unconstitutionally big, alleged election-stealing, Democratic Party-pirated federal and state governments manufacturing crises to oppress everybody under their boots...

Consider that the states effectively have "veto power" over continued unpopular, unconstitutional actions of the feds.

In fact, the states can effectively “secede” from the unconstitutionally big federal government by doing the following.

Patriots need to primary federal and state elected officials who don't send voters email ASAP that clearly promises to do the following.

Federal and state lawmakers need to promise in their emails to introduce resolutions no later than 100 days after start of new legislative sessions that proposes an amendment to the Constitution to the states, the amendment limited to repealing the 16th and ill-conceived 17th Amendments (16&17A).

In fact, I challenge the states to ram the repeal amendment for 16&17A through the ratification process faster than Nancy Pelosi irresponsibly rammed unconstitutional Obamacare through the House. /semi-sarc

Again, insights welcome.
