Started when Reagan allowed himself to get snookered by Kennedy. More or less unabated since then, barring the term of President Trump.
Illegal Immigration isn’t just 3rd world savages coming over the border. It’s visa overstayers. It’s H1B-visa holders getting their wives over here on a tourist/visitation visa and having them pop out a citizen so no one ever has to leave, it’s folks that overstay their student visas. It’s bogus refugee and asylum seekers coming here even though the US had absolutely nothing to do with the situation in their home countries.
Even a significant of the illegals in Mexico fly here and disappear into the community.
Indian immigration is dammed near all illegal first generation and uses the airlines... Flights to Dallas from New Delhi being full; 2/3rds full on the return trip (many of those legal passport holders visiting home).
The Kennedy immigration act was in 1965. At that time Reagan was hosting Death Valley days, and pondering running for Governor of California.
